MARSEILLES` CMA CGM has announced it will add Rotterdam for import cargo in its FAL5 (French Asia Line) Asia-Europe service from November 6.

With a new call in Rotterdam westbound, the transit time between Asia will be two days faster to Le Havre and five days faster to Rotterdam. It will link Port Kelang to Le Havre in 17 days instead of 19 days. From Shenzhen-Yantian to Rotterdam, it will take only 25 days instead of 30 days previously.

The carrier launched this service in July, deploying a fleet of ten 13,800-TEU ships.

The new 70-day rotation of FAL5 is Ningbo, Shanghai, Shenzhen-Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Kelang, Le Havre, Rotterdam (import), Hamburg, Rotterdam (export), Zeebrugge, Port Kelang, Singapore, and back to Ningbo.

"To meet a strong demand, we decided to add a call at Rotterdam for import cargo. This new improvement will reinforce this major service launched last July, that deploys the largest vessels of the market," said senior vice president for Asia-Europe Nicolas Sartini.
