MARSEILLES-based French shipping giant CMA CGM launched its New Victory Bridge service, in partnership with Chilean carrier CSAV, linking north Europe to US south Atlantic, Mexico and the US Gulf effective immediately.

The service, previously operated in cooperation with MSC will deploy five vessels of 3,000 TEU (three from CMA CGM, two from CSAV) which will strengthen the presence of CMA CGM on the north Europe-Mexico-US trade by new calls at Rotterdam and Miami.

The service will boast shortest transit times on the market both eastbound and westbound between north Europe and Mexico (Altamira/Antwerp in 16 days against 21 previously) and between north Europe and US south Atlantic (both Bremerhaven-Charleston and Miami-Le Havre in nine days).

The rotation of the New Victory Bridge service will allow for two weekly departures from Mexico as a direct response to dynamic trade from north Europe and its growing demand for refrigerated goods. The port rotation will follow: Le Havre, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Charleston, Miami, Vera Cruz, Altamira, Houston, Miami and Le Havre.

The New Victory Bridge service will provide the best transit times of the market from Mexico and US south Atlantic to north Europe, thus ensuring optimal service quality especially for the transport of refrigerated goods, particularly sensitive to travel times, said CMA CGM senior vice president of North America Lines, Jean-Philippe Thenoz in a statement.

Savannah and Felixstowe, included in the previous rotation, will now be served through CMA CGM`s Round The World and Liberty Bridge services.
