THE Georgia Ports Authority has appealed to the global shipping community to ask US lawmakers to back the Savannah Harbour Expansion Project (SHEP), "the single most important construction project undertaken by the GPA over the past decade" as it enters its final approval stages.

Port officials are now calling on "you as an industry leader to voice your strong support to our elected officials in Washington, DC. By registering as a SHEP Ally the GPA can also keep you better informed as to the project`s status throughout the final approval process," said the statement issued from its Hong Kong representative office.
