GENEVA`s Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) has announced it will increase the freight rates for its Europe-Asia services US$100 per TEU and FEU from November 1, according the company statement.
The increase will be applied to all cargo originating in Europe, including north west European continent, the UK, Scandinavia, the Baltic, the west Med, east Med and Black Sea ports, and to all destinations in the Far East, including China, Japan, Korea and south east Asia.
The increase comes "in view of strong demand for space and equipment on shipments from Europe to the Far East," the carrier said.
MSC is also raising rates from Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to all Australian ports by $250 per TEU from November 1.
