Hapag-Lloyd to hike global rates in September and October

GERMANY`s Hapag-Lloyd announced it will raise container freight rates on its services in September and October.

Effective September 1, from east Asia (excluding Japan) and Oceania to the Rea Sea ports of Jeddah, Aqaba, Sokhna, Port Sudan and Hodeidah, the increase will be US$100 per TEU.


Effective September 15, from northeast Asia, comprising Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan to Australia and New Zealand, as well as from southeast Asia and India subcontinent to New Zealand, the increase will be $250 per TEU.


Effective September 15, from southeast Asia and India subcontinent to Australia, the increase will be $300 per TEU.


The following increases will be effective from October 1:


From Mexico to North America and Latin America, $150 per TEU and $300 per FEU to South America east coast, US and Canada west coast and Puerto Rico, and $100 per TEU and $200 FEU to US and Canada east coast and US gulf coast.


From north Europe to Caribbean and South America west coast, EUR250 per TEU.


From north Europe to southern Africa, $100 per TEU and $200 per FEU.


From north Europe to west Africa, EUR75 per TEU and EUR150 per FEU.


From North America to southern and west Africa, $150 per TEU and $300 FEU.


From north Europe to Oceania, EUR175 per TEU and EUR350 per FEU.


From Mediterranean to Oceania, $250 per TEU and $500 per FEU.


From Oceania to north Europe and Mediterranean, $100 per TEU and $200 per FEU.


From north Europe and Mediterranean to Canada, US including US destinations via Canadian ports, $240 per TEU and $300 per FEU.


From north Europe and Mediterranean to Mexico, $100 per TEU and $200 per FEU.


Transport additional from Norway, Sweden and Denmark, $50 per TEU and $100 per FEU.
