Anhui invests US$930 million in transport infrastructure

THE eastern province of Anhui invested US$930 million in improving road and seafreight infrastructure in the first half of 2010, said Xinhua.

New road building absorbed 90 per cent of new, equivalent to $835 million, while seafreight constructions accounted for $95 million. Highway constructions accounted for $565 million spending, up 16.48 per cent to $80 million year on year. And enhancement works for provincial road networks were $139 million.


Another highlighted enhancement was in rural road constructions. With an investment of $122 million, a total of 1,230-kilometre long rural road network was completed in the first half. Half of such investment, equivalent to $59 million, was spent in paving the roads for different villages of Anhui.
