Logwin appoints southern China, HK country manager

LUXEMBOURG`s Logwin is to appoint logistics veteran Jimmy Chow new country director for southern China and Hong Kong to meet growing demand for air, ocean and logistics services across Hong Kong, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan provinces.

Mr Chow has 35 years experience in freight forwarding and logistics and started his career with Rhenus before joining Schenker where he worked in senior management positions in Hong Kong and South China for more than 20 years. He most recently worked in senior management for M&R Spedag Group.


Mr Chow joins the company at a time of expansion and with particular focus on the Pan Pearl River Delta (PPRD) which includes the provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong plus Hong Kong and Macao. Logwin`s strategy is to develop growing trade between ASEAN, India and China. He also highlighted the need to build the company`s presence in cross strait trade between Fujian and Taiwan.


In other news, Logwin appointed Patrick Lee as finance manager, southern China and Hong Kong and Rudi Lai as general manager of sales and marketing, southern China and Hong Kong.


Logwin established its operations in the region in 1972 and now has 49 offices in Asia including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand with representative offices in Cambodia, Japan, Laos and Myanmar.


The Logwin business segment Air + Ocean is represented at over 200 locations, of which 98 offices are wholly-owned by the company, on all five continents. One thousand nine hundred employees provide air and sea freight transport as well as specially tailored and complex logistics solutions.
