MISC plans to amend its Malaysia-East Asia service (MES) by adding a port of call at Ningbo and dropping calls at Kaohsiung and Shekou from mid-July.
The northbound call in Ho Chi Minh City will also be halted in August, allowing for a reduction in the Singapore to Tokyo transit time from 12 to eight days, reports Alphaliner.
It said these moves will enable a 1,289-TEU vessel to be removed from the port rotation and the service will then be run with four 1,725-TEU ships.
The new port rotation from August for the MES service will be: Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Shanghai, Ningbo, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Jakarta, Singapore, and back to Tokyo.
