KOREAN flag carrier Hanjin Shipping has announced that it will operate a 10,000-TEU containership on its Pacific and European routes from as early as late June, reports South Korea`s chosun.com newssite.
Built by Samsung Heavy Industries, the KRW126 billion (US$102 million) ship is 350 metres long, 45.6 metres wide and 62 metres high, said chosun.com.
The vessel is the first of five similar ships Hanjin ordered from Samsung in 2006, the company said, adding that the remaining four will be delivered from next year onwards.
