Hanjin Shipping to open third Algeciras CT April 28

TOTAL Terminal International Algeciras` (TTI Algeciras) third container terminal near Gibraltar opens April 28 less than two years after the Port of Algeciras granted a licence to develop and run its third box terminal.
The Hanjin terminal will receive its first call from 10,062-TEU Hanjin Casablanca on the CKYH NE-1 service on April 28. Further services to call include two more from the CKYH Alliance of the NE-5 and the new MD-3, and the Hanjin/UASC IMU/MINA service and the West Africa (WAF) service will call in the near future.
The concession founded and operated by South Korea`s Hanjin Shipping is located in Phase A plot of the Isla Verde Exterior expansion area and boasts 1,200 square metres of quay, reported Paris-based Alphaliner newsletter.
Capacity at full build out will be 1.56 million TEU annually, adding to APM Terminals Alegeciras capacity of 3.6 million TEU and Algeciras Container Terminal capacity of 850,000 million TEU.
