Hactl kicks off 2010 with 48.9pc increase in January volume

HONG KONG Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl), the airport`s No 1 ground handler, moved 212,623 tonnes in January - a 48.9 per cent year-on-year increase.
Export volume in January was up 52.3 per cent against last year`s to 115,297 tonnes while import volume for the month also showed a year-on-year growth of 64.6 per cent to 60,293 tonnes, said the Hactl statement.
Transshipment tonnage in January recorded an increase of 21.7 per cent, with a total of 37,033 tonnes of cargo being handled.
