China`s foreign trade value up nearly 10pc in November

CHINA posted a foreign trade value of US$208.2 billion in November, up 9.8 per cent year on year, and 5.4 per cent over October, Logistics Week reported.
Export value dropped 1.2 per cent year on year, but rose 2.6 per cent month to month to $113.7 billion. Import value jumped 26.7 per cent year on year and increased nine per cent month to month to $94.6 billion.
China Customs statistics director Huang Songping described the figures as a turning point, being the first increase in China`s foreign trade value since November, 2008
He said it was sign of recovery of the country`s foreign trade from the world`s economic downturn.
From January to November, China`s foreign trade value totalled $1.96 trillion, down 17.5 per cent year on year. But the decrease was 2.4 per cent narrower than in the first 10 months.
Export value amounted to $1.07 trillion. Garments, shoes, furniture and mechanical and electrical products made the biggest gains of all exports while import value hit $893 billion.
