MSC revises Golden Gate Service by adding Charleston

GENEVA`s Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has announced the addition of a call at the Port of Charleston, South Carolina, on the Golden Gate service via Suez from January 15 with the sailing of the MSC Turchia from Shanghai.
With 12 ships in the 6,050 TEU range, the rotation will now be Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen (Chiwan and Yantian), Singapore, Salalah, Suez Canal transit, New York, Baltimore, Norfolk, Charleston, Freeport (Bahamas), Suez Canal transit, Jeddah, Colombo, Singapore, Shenzhen (Chiwan), Hong Kong and back to Shanghai.
This development will provide comprehensive cover from all key ports in Asia to the US east coast market, as well as "very competitive transit times".
MSC, the world`s second biggest container shipping line after Maersk, operates 382 vessels with a capacity of 1,482,269 TEU.
