CMHI`s Shenzhen CTs gain environmental, security accreditations

CHINA Merchants Holdings International (CMHI) has announced that its western Shenzhen terminals, Shekou Container Terminal (SCT) and Chiwan Container Terminal (CCT), have gained ISO 28000 security performance accreditation as well as ISO 14001 environmental performance accreditation and by the certification body, Bureau Veritas.
"This represents CMHI`s ongoing commitment to achieve high levels of environmental responsibility and security within its container terminal businesses," a company statement said.
SCT and CCT were said to been awarded ISO 28000 certification for achieving a high level of supply chain security and sustainability which covers both security threats and risk management, becoming the first container terminal companies in China to achieve ISO 28000 certification.
CCT successfully achieved ISO 14001 certification for its management and continual improvement of environmental performances.
This accreditation joins SCT`s previous ISO 14001 accreditation which was re-validated in June of this year for a second year running, the company release added.
