MAERSK`s logistics arm, Damco, has extended its service that consolidates less than container load cargo at its Miami base for transhipment from and to US stops for full container shipping to Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.
"We recognise that the LCL product is crucial to providing a flexible solution for our customers to make the quick decisions needed to serve their markets while fulfilling their own cost-saving objectives," said Damco North America president Jeremy Haycock.
"By moving cargo through our hub, customers will increase their competitiveness by being able to slow down or speed up their supply chains depending on their needs, which is crucial, especially in these economic times," he added.
Said CEO Henning Malmgren: "Americas Bridge reaffirms our desire to connect Latin America with North America and to bring innovative solutions to this trade."
"This is an end-to-end, one-stop-shop solution for customers, encompassing inland and ocean transportation, warehousing, customs clearance and visibility, tailored to each client`s needs, while providing flexibility, reliability, and efficiency."
The real-time supply chain inventory management from its Miami base is an add-on for Americas Bridge customers.
