Hainan port volume up 24.2 pc in the first nine month

SOUTH China`s Hainan Island registered a 24.2 per cent growth in its port volume to 53.74 million tonnes in the first three quarters of 2009, reports Xinhua.
Export cargo amounted to 28.38 million tonnes, accounting for 52.8 per cent of the total and growing 35.6 per cent year on year. While import cargo increased 13.6 per cent to 25.37 million tonnes, 11.9 per cent less than export volume.
