HONG KONG`s Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has announced a US$400 per reefer container surcharge on refrigerated cargo on westbound sailings from Europe to Montreal from November 12.
"With the onset of the winter peak season, the demand for reefer plugs on westbound sailings exceeds supply," said an OOCL statement.
OOCL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Orient Overseas (International) Ltd, which operates through 280 offices in 55 countries.
