China`s air cargo June volume rises 12.1pc as HK`s slides

STATISTICS released by China Civil Aviation Administration show that the turnover volume of civil aviation industry reached 2.34 billion ton-kilometres in June, up 12.1 per cent year on year, reports Xinhua.
Total volume during the first half amounted to 19.19 billion ton-kilometres, 3.9 per cent more than in the same period of last year.
In June, volume on domestic lines grew 24.5 per cent year on year and turnover on international routes was down 9.2 per cent, while volumes from Hong Kong and Macau slid 13.6 per cent.
As for freight, turnover in June fell 1.2 per cent, narrowing the decrease from the previous month, while the mail-cargo transport volume grew 4.2 per cent year on year, reversing May`s decline and posting its first increase since June 2008.
